Aloha - ripped is the new skinny

This week I'm trying something new.. let's see if it's trendy ha ha :):)

powered by Xenia + Christi + Charla

And as always today is not just a regular Friday, it's also Aloha Friday! If you have no clue what Aloha Friday is already, go to An Island Life and you'll figure it out pretty fast:)

Now my Question here is:

What do you do when your socks rip? Do you buy new or you try to fix the old ones?

My answer:
There's a rule in our house, if underwear and socks get ripped, that means they're too old to be worn so it's time for a change:) With clothes in general i try to fix them, so we can wear them inside the house or if not possible we throw them to the clothes garbage.. but comes to underwear and socks.. nope.. time to change.. maybe cause it brings bad memories from our childhood when our grandmothers made us wear socks that were sewn over and over... and i imagine with a lot of grandchildren that might have been the cheaper way to keep it going.. but now there's just the two of us so new rules:).. Now how about your household? Lots of kids?? Socks sewn sometimes?? Always new??? Spill the deal:)

When my socks get old I replace them with new ones. I keep extra packs of new socks on hand because I don't like to wear worn socks.

BTW they stopped doing Friday Follow.

I always buy new ones, as soon as something starts to give out, lol.

Years ago I would fix them, but now I buy new and use the old for making dolls or other toys for the kids.

When that happens to my socks I definitely just buy new ones! I'm not much of a sewer with clothes so I have to rely on newer things when the old wear out! Have a great Friday!

Like you said, when socks and underwear get old - they are tossed here. A rip is a sure sign they have been owned way too long to save.

I always throw out socks and under clothes when they get riped.. They are not something worth fixing to me.

I definitely don't take the time to fix socks or underwear, far too much work when they're probably just going to fall apart again!

Thanks so much for joining us at Friendly Friday and I'm really sorry that you had to search to find us. I really appreciate that you did and can be a part of the fun from now on! :)

Ripped socks = bye bye socks. I use them as rags after they have been retired from feet.

I toss them into the garbage, but the boys in my house? it's like they are all in love with their socks and undies.

Lol not only do I throw them out I have to rip them up first LOL yes I'm a weirdo! It stems from when I worked, I took care of 6 handicapped ladies (who had TONS of garments) & my boss would not let us toss any socks/undies/bras if they had small holes so if I was getting someone dressed & it had a small hole in it well I made a HUGE hole so they had to be thrown away ;)

Thanks for stopping by my food blog! I am following you back

If my socks get ripped they get tossed. I grew up poor and remember having to sew the holes in my socks. No way am I going back to those days. LOL Now it amazes me that I never find holes in my socks. Maybe they are making them better.

I used to fix socks, but now I just toss them and buy new ones. I'm with you - when they end up with holes, that usually means they're too old to be worn! :)
