Make a picture into a link

Hi all! New week starting off great! SO we're here with more handy-dandy blog tips, SEO advice(search engine optimization), the scoop on easy HTML and all news on technical features and softwares.. or for short: Technical Support, as everybody already knows it:)

The topic for today is: how to make a picture into a link!

That practically translates into having a picture in your post that directs somewhere else when being clicked. It could be an older post that has references connect to the picture, it could be someone else's blog, or a guest post you did on another blog. It could be anything and everything. You choose!

I will choose a picture of some cute mini ginger man i did last year and i will make the picture direct to the post i did back then. SO here is the picture I'm gonna use:

There's many ways of doing this, but the easiest way is this. This is the picture's code when you uploaded it from your computer:

Now what you need to do is delete this part from it:

Then what you need to do is go back into your post and click the insert link button at the top of your editor, on the tool bar:

And then insert the link you want the picture to direct to in there, like so:

Then hit save and the picture should direct to the post you wanted to, just like mine does. There, click it and see!!
Now that's for that for today! Hope it helped!! Check back to see what comes up next in Blogger tutorial section, SEO tips department or how we teach new HTML tricks & tips every day!

I actually just made a photo into a link for the first time a few minutes ago. I did in a different way though.

After uploading the photo to the post, I simply clicked on the photo, then on the link symbol and added the place I wanted to link it too. I checked it and it worked.

I forgot to ask. I have been trying to figure out how to make a nice advertising box...similar to the one you have in your side bar, but maybe smaller.

As it is now, my ads seem to be all over the place, and I would love to add a neat, clean box, where the ads are closely together like yours.

Also, I wanted to thank you for the SEO tips, I have been linking up posts instead of just my blog home page, and it seems to be working. Do you have any other places to link up. I am linking up to google, yahoo and bing.

I am so confused! But...then again I usually am. I took me a WHOLE DAY to figure out how to but the share this on the bottom of my posts! what i wanna do is like how you have that cute boost your blog button that is really a link. I want that. I see blogs with buttons like that that link to twitter or facebook or other post. That is what I'm looking to do!
