The Sox Box

ok so you can't figure out what the crack am i talking about.. oh well it's literally a Sox Box.. oh well actually a socks box.. but it's spelled cooler like that;)

Anyway.. this whole thing started with this:

I was sick of finding piles of socks all over the places and all over the drawers.. so i thought of a storage separator kind of thing...enter the Sox Box:

with it's cute little happy stripes

and it's cute etiquette pockets..

it sold me at hello!

Now it was easy to assemble as well... here's the breakdown in pictures:

Added the etiquette and voila! The Sox Box:

And as cute as it was i didn't want it to feel alone so i bought another pal for The Sox Box to hang around with.. enter The Underworld Box:

Yeah it says "Undies" on it.. all right?!

And now we have Sox Box, Underworld Box, all striped and labeled... peace and happiness ... everything is good again!

So what do you say.. thumbs up for the little upgrade???

August Chillax

So here is August coming all over us and hitting us with its heat right in our faces... oh i hate summer.
Anyway.. since it's weekend already and everybody just wants to chill ..why don't just hang around here and check this eclectic beach cottage i saw over Apartment Therapy.
The owners of this beautiful simple home are keeping this place as an escape from the everyday world.. and they did a fantastic job..look at all the wood and all the finishes:

and look at the clever way of dressing your own window:

and those wood paddles ..

aren't those cute and beach-y like??

The bedrooms are clean and simple:

And look at this wall art...isn't this so shabby-old-english???

i find it cute and it fits perfectly with the overall feeling of the cottage

Simply Beautiful!!!

Today i want to enjoy simple things! I want to break away from the stress of our modern life and just enjoy the small things that truly counts. That's why I'll go prepare some homemade lemonade on the rocks, put some sunscreen lotion on my feet, get my sunglasses and pop in a chair with a good book in my hands and enjoy the life!

Meanwhile i will let you drool over this simple home that I've discovered this week looking through the Country Living magazines:

Gooooo Flower Power!!!

When coming to flower inspiration, I always go to the mother of them all: Martha Stewart. I know she has pretty hot prices for her creations.. but i get my inspiration and then i try to recreate that look for less money. * Who doesn't do that?? *
Anyway the summer season is upon us and i have this thing that i change my flower preferences depending on the season. So for this summer i went with beautiful peonies, delicate lilies and stunning pink orchids for my tastes.
Which one of these bouquets inspires you most for a summer table centerpiece or for a chic mantel full of summer glow and luxury?

Orchids

Pop The Balls...

If lately you're having an urge for all things natural-looking, then you're stopping at the right spot. I'm in that place too, and being a cheapo-hunter at heart, i stumbled over this step by step tutorial that our friends at Crafty Nest. presented us a while back.

Yup, that's right .. I'm talking about hemp pendant lamps.. don't they look cute and all??? And the texture they have, and all those earth tones they bring in your place... oh so dreamy...
And as the crafty nesters are pros' already, they did the dirty job of finding the best ways to achieve this beautiful result, so we can skip the no-no's parts and get it right from the beginning.

Here's the supplies and tools you need:

# large bouncy balls of various sizes
# clear drying craft glue (such as Aleene’s Clear Gel Tacky Glue) 1 bottle per ball approx.
# hemp string 20lb. weight
estimated amounts needed:
16 inch diameter ball—400 yards
14 inch diameter ball—300 yards
9 inch diameter ball—100 yards
# plastic gloves (optional)
# trash bag or small drop cloth
# permanent marker
# ball deflator or something sharp to pop the ball
# light fixture and hardware

Bottom line the steps cut to this:

1. run the hemp string through the glue

2. then glue and wrap(over and over)

3. let the glue dry completely(2 days or so)
4. pop the ball

5. add the light fixture of your choice through the new shades

If some of you guys look for more specifics on how to make these hemp pendant lamps, go over to Crafty Nest and see the great job they're doing there!

I for one, I'm thinking of making this project asap. What do you guys think??
Oh it looks so easy-peasy when you just look at the images.. but i bet I'm gonna need tons of ice tea and a lot of brain cells to sacrifice for this project:)

Happy Monday Everyone!!!
