Pop The Balls...

If lately you're having an urge for all things natural-looking, then you're stopping at the right spot. I'm in that place too, and being a cheapo-hunter at heart, i stumbled over this step by step tutorial that our friends at Crafty Nest. presented us a while back.

Yup, that's right .. I'm talking about hemp pendant lamps.. don't they look cute and all??? And the texture they have, and all those earth tones they bring in your place... oh so dreamy...
And as the crafty nesters are pros' already, they did the dirty job of finding the best ways to achieve this beautiful result, so we can skip the no-no's parts and get it right from the beginning.

Here's the supplies and tools you need:

# large bouncy balls of various sizes
# clear drying craft glue (such as Aleene’s Clear Gel Tacky Glue) 1 bottle per ball approx.
# hemp string 20lb. weight
estimated amounts needed:
16 inch diameter ball—400 yards
14 inch diameter ball—300 yards
9 inch diameter ball—100 yards
# plastic gloves (optional)
# trash bag or small drop cloth
# permanent marker
# ball deflator or something sharp to pop the ball
# light fixture and hardware

Bottom line the steps cut to this:

1. run the hemp string through the glue



2. then glue and wrap(over and over)



3. let the glue dry completely(2 days or so)
4. pop the ball





5. add the light fixture of your choice through the new shades

OK since it's been such hot weather here for the past 2 days, my question for you should be:

What do you guys do to cool off when the hot summer weather is kicking in????

I for one, drink lots of fluids and eat tons of ice cream(that's why you're gonna hear lots of ice cream comments from now on in my posts), turn on the AC and i take tons of showers:)) i know that the showers and the AC doesn't work together.. but who cares??? I'm dying here:))

Now I'll go see what others' burning questions are this week:)

Living in the city

There's many reasons why not to live in the city; all the noise, and the crowded places, even the air is thicker in the city. But there's places that simply make you just forget about all the other inconvenience and just stay in love with what surrounds you. This is just an example of that:

What Do You See

Yesterday, my husband and i went to the good will store nearby us cause i was in the mood for some goodies. We went in and i promised him we were not gonna stay there more than 5 min *he hates staring for hours at smth that he truly just doesn't see it*... well blame me for not being decided over what to choose between one blue fun eclectic tea pot and a white modern one.. i went back and forth with my decision.. i even went on with the craziness and i started combining these tea pots with different fabrics i found in the store, different plates and all kinds of layers .. i was kinda creating an impromptu table arrangement right there in the store.. and while i was at it i didn't even realize how many people were staring at me like i was on crazy pills or something.. when my husband realized that, he came to me and said "honey, we need to make a decision fast".. and i was like come on, gimme some more time.. but when i looked at the cash register.. i knew what he was talking about.. and i was so ashamed.. i put everything back to their place.. stood there in a corner debating over which tea pot i like more.. couldn't decide after half an hour spent there, and eventually i ended up with these babies:



I know they are cute green vintage shots, but i saw something else in them... i thought of them like maybe they can become some sort of candle holders.. do you see it too now??? i hope so , 'cause i tried explaining an imaginary table arrangement with these two cuties as the main piece to my husband and he was still looking at me like.. "yeah honey, it sounds cute".. haha poor guy:) :)

Anyway.. what do you guys think?? Can my weird tastes become a nice chic reality.. i mean would these shots look nice and fab with some white tall skinny candles in it on a simple yet romantic table set?? DO you guys see what i see in these two?? Or if not, what other purposes would you use them for??? What do you see when you look at them? Pwease do share your thoughts!!!

It's RTT again!!!

* I just ate a whole pack of soft cakes and i guess i made my round of sugars for today:D

* I'm always wearing a can of pepper spray in my purse with me .. so don't mess with me or else you're gonna be the first to test it;)

* My shower gel smells like coffee. I think I'm getting addicted to the smell already. does freaking out when the shower gel is over counts as an addict behavior??? no?? I'm just being bitchy?? OK then, I'll take that! Thank you!:)

* The only club I'd found would be "hating-the-summer-heat-loving-the-winter-coolness". If i would have the money, I'd pack my bags and move to North Pole during the summer days:D

* Does anybody hear anything about the "Swine Flu" anymore??? maybe it's on a break now!..North Pole you say??? then count me in :)

* Lately i long so bad for fruits(and if you know me at all, I'm not one that goes for fruits or veggies voluntarily). what's wrong with me??? .. and no i am not pregnant:P.. some other options???.. anyone???

* I'd like to cook a thanksgiving turkey at least once in my life... maybe I'll try it out this year:)

* I have lots of peep toes and pumps, yet I'm wearing Uggs and flip-flops on a regular basis.. anyone ca explain the madness??? oh and speaking of flip flops what are the brands you most often wear. mine are Old Navy(cheapo), Target, Steve Madden and Teva.

* We're planing on a bike trip for weeks but due to my retardiness of leaving my bike to my SIL's place we're one bike short.. and we remind of this every Sunday noon when we want to go biking...el-stupido-retardo-lameo-me:P

* I'm out for some McD's... .99$/cheeseburger gotta move my butt out of the house:) I'll be back in no time:)

Who's your spokesman???

Many times i wonder what people's homes are saying about themselves...and many times the answers are so different. Many times i wonder what does my home say about me.. and in my head the answer would be like *oh, they went after the "no money" theme. they totally stole my idea* :P
We never spent hundreds of $$ on anything beside the main furniture pieces . But I've never invested too much in anything decor wise.. yet i try to work with different things i find, reinvent some others that i already own and mix them with new textures ,some layers and a crisp color scheme that i go after when it comes to our home decor.
Yet, one day i was thinking what's the thing from our home that describes me the best right now at this point. And after minutes and minutes of debating, i came to the conclusion that it's the paint brush and the white paint that describes me best.



Ever since we moved in this new home, i had this compulsive need to paint everything white: wood, plastic, metal, anything for that matter. My husband got a wee bit scared that i may paint him during sleep one night.. made a commitment not to, tough, and this is what brought him to sleep again:P

Now what's the thing in your home that represents you best. It can be a decorative object, it can be a flower pot, it can be a furniture piece, or it can be a game console.. anything for that matter! Just speak it out! And let us all know who's your spokesman:)

First time in Random Tuesday Thoughts and so proud of it!If you don't know what that is, click here!Ok, now that we settled these things, here we go:

* My dishes are piling up on my kitchen sink and all around it. I should start washing them, before they get all stinky.. oh well..there's still time ...

* I'm eating Amarena Cherry Ice Cream and it's delish.. wonder why they call it Amarena??? Why not Sweet-arena??:)??

* What happened with Tom and Jerry??? I've never heard of them in a long time... If you see them by any chance , tell them to stop by my house, will you??:)

* Why is it that every time you plan something in detail, something else(more important/or not) has to intervene and ruin the initial plans? Somehow it always happens to me. anyone else?!? NO??? Just me?? Well, okay then..

* There's only 1 toilet paper roll left in my bathroom.. i should go buy some more before somebody gets stuck into the dirty business without rescue:)))

* one of my teeth hurts.. i guess it's no joke with that huh?

* I hate coffee yet i love the smell of it. So maybe i should start doing coffee every morning just for the smell eh??

* I'm still having my egg-shaped-candles on my coffee table, even tough the Easter is far gone.

* And by the way , why is it called "coffee table"? What if i don't drink coffee?? Am i allowed to call it put-my-feet-on-table??

* How many episodes does "The Young and The Restless" soap has??? millions?? Come on people, i knew this show ever since i was a kid.. and i bet every once in 1 minute one person dies of boredom because of TYTR:P this is how boring it is..

* I hope my Yuka Flower won't die. I even changed its planter into a bigger one, filled it with new dirt and didn't pour too much water..yet i have a feeling..cross my fingers!

* Is there a limit to how many random thoughts i should have??? i dunno but apparently i have tons of them. Well i should keep part of them for myself..or my husband..or whoever listens to me(silence... crickets..wind...)

Chicken's Secret

Being Saturday, and thinking that the weekend already sat in, i thought that maybe i should tell you my Chicken's secret(does anybody care?!? I'll go on anyway:)

So, wonder what that is?
* Well first of all it's food related(if somebody was still wondering:P)
* And second, it's a mixture of things

OK, now here comes the secret, ladies: i almost always rub some sweet honey on my chicken before putting it to grill and then i poor some soy sauce over it!
It makes it sweet and sour in the same time, and it also makes its crust cracking and its meat smooth.. ooo so delish:)
Oh and always pair it with a vegetable mix with butter and some pita:) Many of our dinners are based on this secret(it's actually cheaper that's why:P)..

Green of Envy

Well it is said that there shouldn't necessarily be a special day for your husband to buy you a gift..but in this economy this became kind of a dream for most of us. But still..wouldn't it be nice girls, for your husbands to surprise you for no apparent reason? I bet it would be nice, right? * and i know you all out there "umpffff" in front of your computers right now nodding with me:)*

Well, now here starts the envy part.. I always said that my husband is a keeper and now here's a proof. Few days ago, he came home with these babies...



I was in total shock and also in the 9th cloud!
Take a closer look now.. maybe this would give you a better idea of how beautiful these babies are:



Yup that's right they are fabulous glasses...with gorgeous green details oh so dreamy..and there's actually 6 of 'em...SCORE!!! Imagine some home made ice-cream scoops in there:) Sweet!
What do you guys think? Beautiness??? I think so!
